This year’s
special topics of interest are 3D, Green
Technologies, Solid-State Lighting, and
Flexible Electronics and Printed Displays. Attendees at
Display Week 2012 will be given the opportunity to attain a
comprehensive learning experience in these special topics of
interest by listening to presentations during the four-day
technical symposium, attending the Sunday
Short Courses and
Monday
Seminars, and getting a business perspective from the
Business and Investors Conferences and the Market Focus
Conferences.
Solid-State Lighting
Solid-State
lighting has begun to fulfill its promise with regard to
saving energy and providing design flexibility. However,
LEDs have made more commercial inroads in this area than
OLEDs, which are currently available only in high-end
architectural applications. OLED papers therefore form the
bulk of this year's solid-state-lighting sessions, as the
industry pushes to develop higher-efficiency,
higher-performing OLED panels. Other solid-state-lighting
papers will focus on trends in LED illumination.
This year's
symposium includes the following sessions:
-
Solid-State-Lighting Applications
-
Four Solid-State Lighting Technology
Sessions
-
Lighting Devices
-
Fabrication Processes and Solid-State
Lighting

OLED Lighting
This year,
the Market Focus Conference on Wednesday, June 6, will focus
on
The LED
Lighting Evolution – From Sapphire to Lumens
for the
entire day.
The goal of this event is
to allow global-industry leaders throughout the supply chain
to explore the cutting-edge innovations that will shape the
future of lighting and backlighting. This conference will
feature keynotes and presentations from industry leaders,
panel sessions, and ample time for networking.
Also, the
Business Conference will examine how alternative display
technologies such as quantum-dot LEDs and backlights will
impact the display-market outlook.
