ABSTRACT: The relentless advances in computing technologies, utilizing the power of Moore’s Law, will be described. How these advances, coupled with remarkable innovations in sensing and display technologies, are transforming computing, communications, and entertainment devices, systems and applications will be discussed. Over the past decades, human-device interactions have morphed from text inputs to graphical user interfaces. Efforts under way at Intel and in the industry to usher in a new era of interactivity, where devices can “see”, “hear”, “feel,” and “understand,” transforming our experiences with the content on displays of all form-factors to be more engaging and immersive, will be explained.
