Display Week At-A-Glance

The chart below shows scheduled events planned for Display Week. Program timing below are approximate as there may be slight variations on different days.  While small changes in session assignments could occur for the 400+ Symposium paper speakers/authors, we expect most of the schedule to remain stable.

Due to higher attendance figures we've had to place attendance restrictions on several of the events, so we encourage you to register early before any events sell out. Please note registration prices go up after Apr 26, 2019.
The events below are scheduled to be held at the San Jose Convention Center. Download Display Week At-A-Glance PDF

2019 Program

The Society for Information Display's annual Display Week runs from May 12th - May 17th, offering a wide selection of display technology presentations by global experts that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

SID International Symposium
The four-day Symposium features hundreds of leading display industry papers from around the world in multiple technical sessions. It includes a plenary keynote session, presentations in parallel sessions, a poster session organized around selected topics, and author interview sessions with demo models each afternoon. This year's program consists of six technical tracks of over 70 technical sessions consisting of nearly 400 oral and poster presentations.

Sunday Short Courses The Society for Information Display presents two tracks of four-hour short courses on Sunday, May 12th. Full color tutorial notes will be distributed to all participants and are included in the fee. Ample time will be provided for questions from the audience. The speakers are leaders in their respective fields and bring an international perspective to information display.  The tutorials cover the fundamentals of the topic in greater depth than the Monday Seminars, which tend to be focused more on the state of the art due to the shorter time slot allowed for the seminars.

Monday Seminars The Monday Seminars present lectures on diverse topics related to electronic information displays and applications. These seminars are tutorial in nature, and an attempt is made to provide information at three levels. First the technical foundations of the topic are discussed, followed by recent technical advances, and ending with projection of future trends.
These seminars can benefit both newcomers and experienced professionals. Engineers new to assignments in information display find them especially helpful in getting up to speed quickly. Experienced professionals attend to keep up with recent developments in fields closely related to their specialties. Managers attending the seminars obtain a broad perspective of the display field and a sense of its recent dynamics. Attendees will receive an color notes, consisting of the instructor’s presentation slides, replete with references and illustrations. The speakers are leaders in their fields who bring an international perspective to information display.

Exhibition
The SID exhibition of display components and systems is your opportunity to see the latest innovative products from the leading companies in the information display industry. The exhibition opens on Tuesday at 10:30 am and concludes at 3:00 pm on Thursday. Many of the leaders and innovators in the display industry will be represented.

Exhibitors’ Forum
Here, exhibitors give 15 minute presentations describing their technologies and products in a symposium-like setting, offering attendees a more complete picture of what is being exhibited. The presentations are organized by subject and will be presented on a predetermined schedule.

SID-DSCC Business Track
The SID Business Track is the display industry’s largest conference devoted to the display market. Organized in conjunction with Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) for the third consecutive year, this event takes a supply chain approach to addressing the display market outlook with executives from panel suppliers, brands, equipment suppliers, materials manufacturers, industry analysts and financial analysts. The Business Track will consist of three whole-day conferences held from May 13th –15th , featuring presentations from prominent executives of leading companies throughout the display ecosystem. Each of the four conferences will link current and emerging issues via information and analysis of the display industry, providing the knowledge necessary to develop effective strategies to succeed in the changing global marketplace.

Kicking off the Business Track, the Business Conference will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019.
For over a decade, SID Business Conference has consistently drawn large crowds and influential speakers who have provided valuable insights on the display market outlook. Leading industry executives want to use this event to create a high-profile statement about the future of the industry, and so for 2019, we will bring back the supply chain keynote session. The Business Conference will also include presentations from leading industry analysts from a variety of firms and sessions devoted to TVs, Smartphones, and emerging technologies.

Day two of the Business Track will be the Investors Conference on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.
The 15th Annual SID Investor’s Conference will continue with the format successfully introduced in 2018, as a full day event. The Investor Conference will feature presentations from market and sell-side analysts on important trends in the display industry and which segments and companies are likely to outperform. It will also feature a panel session including private equity and venture capital executives on what they are looking for from potential investments in private display companies. Private display-related companies seeking funding or secondary financing will then give short presentations to an audience consisting largely of buy-side, private equity and venture capital investors. The event will prioritize companies participating in Display Week’s I-Zone exhibits.

SID-DSCC Market Focus Conferences
After a successful debut in 2010, the Market Focus Conferences, now in the ninth year, will once again be held in conjunction with Display Week. Each Market Focus Conference will concentrate on the critical market development issues facing each of these technologies. Each conference will feature presentations and panel sessions with executives throughout the display supply chain. Conference fees include a continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, access to the exhibit hall and Tuesday morning keynotes, and electronic copies of the presentation material.
2019 will feature:

Automotive Display Market Focus Conference on Wednesday, May 15th 2019.
To better meet the needs of Display Week attendees, the Automotive Display Market Focus Conference will be coupled with a special track in the technical symposium to provide an enhanced, integrated program for industry professionals focused on this growing sector. The conference will address the exciting opportunities offered by the shift to semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles with perspectives from key industry analysts, material suppliers, display manufacturers, Tier 1 automotive suppliers, and leading automotive OEMs, and will cover both existing and emerging flat panel display applications and the opportunities and challenges in head-up displays (HUD).

Foldable Display Market Focus Conference on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019.
New for 2019, the Foldable Display Market Focus Conference will cover both technical and market issues surrounding the next big innovation area for the display industry. Foldable displays are critical to the growth of the OLED industry and present challenges in technology development, manufacturing, designing and marketing devices. The conference will include the viewpoints of prominent industry analysts and perspectives from companies supplying innovative material solutions and device designs to make foldable displays a reality.

Awards Banquet
The Awards Banquet will take place at 7:30 PM on Monday, May 13, 2019. This dinner features distinguished speakers, and honors the SID special recognition award winners and new Fellows.

Display Industry Awards Lunch
The Luncheon will take place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 honoring the best products, components, and applications of the preceding year.
