曲面显示器正要进军大众市场,经研究证实,以观视角度下降 (viewing angle degradation) 来说,55 英吋的曲面液晶电视较平面佳。因几何光学之故,反射会造成分散效应 (distraction effect)。本实验使用液晶灯带 (LED stripe) 及标方格 (grid) 量测曲面的波纹度 (waviness) ,这也是未来量测的任务。

应力在曲面液晶屏幕引发基板 Mura 9:20 AM-9:40 AM
曲平基板 (curving flat substrates) 创造出的相位延迟 (retardance) 与厚度平方值成比例,大约是平坦基板最大值的三倍。这些应力图案 (stress patterns) 跟暗态 (dark state) VA 与 IPS LC 模式有特别的交互关系。曲面基板的应力双折射 (stress-birefringence) 透过液晶与基板的交互作用,可创造独特的圆形偏振边缘 mura (circular polarized edge mura) 。

曲面 ADS 模式液晶屏幕的漏光研究 9:40 AM-10:00 AM
我们建立可测试的模型,发现曲面 ADS 模式液晶面板光漏 (light leakage) 的机制,且因为应力光学系数 (stress optical coefficient) ,导致玻璃产生光学相位延迟 (optical retardation)。面板上下玻璃会有残留应力,再加上液晶层的光学相位延迟,光漏因而产生。本文中,我们比较这个模型下,实验与仿真的结果。

如何在曲面显示器上测量观视角度 10:00 AM-10:20 AM
本文探讨曲半径 (radius of curvature) 对于曲面显示器发射特性 (emissive properties) 的影响。我们计算观视角度特性产生的扭曲情况,并比较从曲面电视与增亮膜 (brightness enhancement film, BEF) 得到的实验数值。结果显示若光点大小/ 曲率比率小于0.5%,影响可忽略。
